Hockey fans will converge at the Jacques-Lemaire arena and at the Dollard-St-Laurent sports centre from the 4th to the 17th of January 2010 to watch the 31st series of Bantam hockey. Honorary president is Kevin Challenger, pass receiver for the Edmonton Eskimos. There will be 42 teams: 18 from the AA category and 24 from the BB level. The first games will be played on Monday, January 4, starting at 5:30 pm. Official opening ceremony will be held on Friday, January 8, before the 8:00 pm match between the Cobras of Verdun-LaSalle and the Sélects du Nord in the AA category. The two finals are planned for Sunday, January 17: BB finals at 3:00 pm and AA finals at 5:00 pm.
Kevin Challenger, honorary presidentThis 31st series will feature Kevin Challenger as honorary president, pass receiver for the Edmonton Eskimos. From 1996 to 1999, he played with the LaSalle Warriors. From 2000 to 2002, he made the jump over to the Vanier Cheetahs team at the college level. In 2002, he was with the Canadian étoiles team and was a member of the Canada Team during a match in New Orleans. From 2003 to 2007, he played with the Eagles of Boston College, and for the last two years, has bee n playing with the pros – Edmonton Eskimos.
