A brand new company opened its doors to the public. Located at 2036 Pigeon Street, Crepeblin makes nine kinds of stuffed frozen crepes which will soon be available in ethnic stores, groceries, restaurants and catering companies. The company also makes snack food, meals and desserts.
Irina Malyavina and Viktoria Koulia own this company and they make all the meals themselves with the help of a part-time employee. It called for a total investment of about $110,000.00. To start their new company, Irina and Viktoria availed of two financial subsidies obtained through LaSalle’s economic development organisation. The owners of Crepeblin were able to obtain initial financing to carry out a market study, thanks to the Jeunes promoteurs programme. After submitting their business plan, a second funding was granted to the owners to launch the company. The stuffed crepes are made of flour that is not ordinarily found in markets.
Crepeblin products are presently distributed in small ethnic stores, but Irina and Viktoria are in discussions with supermarket executives so they can serve larger stores. Several personalities attended the opening of Crepeblin on March 19.
