After bestowing these honours on des Rapides members, Triathlon Québec highlighted the involvement of the club’s president, Ghislain Mélançon, for his role in developing the sport; he was also named Volunteer of the Year.
Honours were again bestowed on the members of des Rapides when the club was named Club of the Year in Quebec. Provincial recognition was given to des Rapides APIDES for their efforts in developing the triathlon sport. One can think of establishing a sports-study programme in triathlon in the metropolitan region; there are two currently being offered at the Collège Ste-Anne and at the André-Laurendeau Cégep.
