Trucks to have restricted access for a few weeks

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated and the Quebec Transport Minister wish to inform the public and especially truck drivers and operators that on the bridge’s south bound and north bound directions, the left and right lanes will be blocked off to trucks during the next few weeks. Trucks however will have access at all times to one of the two lanes in each direction.

As part of the repair work on the connection plates, these traffic restrictions will enable bridge workers to advance a good portion of the repair work by not closing the lanes to cars.These repairs are being carried out under the bridge structure; they are not visible to users.

For the next few weeks, the contractor who was awarded the repair contract will proceed to complete the job by limiting the number of lane closings for cars. To do this, restrictions for heavy-load trucks will be imposed from one lane to the other in both directions until Christmas. The JCCBI requests all truck drivers to respect traffic signs on the bridge.
